Financially Sustainable Budget Model
With a balanced budget for the 2025-26 academic year and proactive planning, SJSU has strengthened its reserves and is preparing for economic shifts, safeguarding our long-term agility and impact. We will approach the year ahead with cautious optimism.
We must ensure our institution has the resources to sustain our programs and our ambitions
on behalf of students. The broader economic landscape in California continues to shift,
and we must be prepared for fiscal uncertainty. The Budget Advisory Committee remains engaged and proactive and we continue to engage the entire campus in this
process through our regular Budget Town Halls.
Our focus is must be twofold:
- Maintain a financially sustainable budget model through disciplined planning and spending.
- Rebuild campus reserves to safeguard our long-term fiscal health and institutional agility.
